Stop Racism

Stop racism

In Belgium, discrimination and racism are unfortunately still all too common. It is essential to continue to inform and raise the awareness of the general public. This is why awareness campaigns cover a variety of themes to help prevent and fight efficiently against all forms of discrimination or racism.

On 21 March 2019, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the Minister for Equal Opportunities launched a campaign and a website to denounce certain stereotypes. The campaign takes the form of films published on social media and posters displayed in train stations, and aims to combat prejudices. In addition, it seeks to inform the general public about the existing legal framework and to identify organisations with which victims of discrimination and racism can share their grievances. A call for projects aimed at associations is also linked to this campaign. Associations were able to submit their projects relating to the fight against racism and discrimination under the call for projects of the Equal Opportunities Team.
